Florist Millbank Modern Slavery Statement
Our Commitment to Preventing Modern Slavery
Florist Millbank is dedicated to conducting all aspects of our operations honestly, ethically, and with transparency. As a trusted florist serving the Millbank community’s households and businesses, we acknowledge our responsibility to actively prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in all areas of our business and supply chain. This statement outlines the measures we have in place for the period beginning 2024 to identify, address, and prevent exploitation within our operations and among our partners.
Zero Tolerance Policy
Florist Millbank enforces a clear and strict zero tolerance policy with regard to modern slavery and human trafficking. We categorically oppose any form of forced labour, servitude, or deceptive recruitment, whether it occurs within our own team or throughout our supply chains. Any breach of this policy is treated with the utmost seriousness, and appropriate disciplinary or legal action will be taken against anyone found to be in violation of our standards.
Supplier Due Diligence
We understand that the most significant risk of modern slavery in our business resides in our supply chain, particularly relating to the sourcing of flowers, sundries, and associated goods. Florist Millbank requires all suppliers to adhere to our Ethical Supplier Code of Conduct, which explicitly prohibits forced labour, child labour, or human trafficking. We select suppliers based not only on quality and reliability but also on their ability to demonstrate robust ethical labour practices.
Prior to establishing new partnerships, we perform due diligence through supplier assessments, including risk evaluations and, where possible, site visits or questionnaires focusing on labour practices. Ongoing relationships with suppliers are reviewed annually to monitor compliance. Should any supplier be found in breach of our standards, we will work with them to remedy the situation or, if necessary, terminate the relationship.
Staff Training
All Florist Millbank employees receive training outlining what constitutes modern slavery, the warning signs to look for, and our procedures for reporting any suspicions. This training is included as part of induction for new team members and is refreshed annually to reinforce a vigilant and responsible workforce. Staff are empowered to challenge any practice that they suspect may be unethical or exploitative, and are reassured that their concerns will be handled confidentially and sensitively.
Reporting Channels
We encourage an open and transparent culture where staff, suppliers, and stakeholders feel able to report modern slavery concerns without fear of reprisal or discrimination. A confidential reporting channel is available, and any allegations or suspicions raised will be investigated thoroughly and promptly by senior management. Where appropriate, concerns may be referred to external authorities for further action.
Annual Review and Continuous Improvement
Florist Millbank’s Modern Slavery Statement is subject to annual review to ensure that it remains effective and aligned with best practices and legal developments. We evaluate our policies, procedures, and risk assessments at least once per year, making enhancements wherever necessary. Our aim is not only compliance, but continuous improvement in preventing exploitation throughout our business and supply chain.
As stewards of trust within the Millbank community, Florist Millbank pledges to uphold these standards both within our local operations and across our global supply networks. We take this responsibility seriously—as a business partner, an employer, and a committed member of the community.
